Quantum Leap is Bassett's professional acting debut. Before turning to acting, Bassett spent seven years in U.S. Army Intelligence and the National Security Agency. During that time, she served two combat tours in Afghanistan and a third tour abroad. After her military service, Bassett studied law while also attending theater classes. She was accepted full time at the Stella Adler Conservatory after being asked to audition and trained with Bob Krakower. Caitlin Amanda Bassett (born 16 March ) is an American actress and US Army veteran. Best known for her work as a lead on NBC's Quantum Leap, Bassett is the first American female combat veteran to work as an actress in Hollywood.[citation needed]
Early life
[edit]Caitlin Bassett was born on 16 March to Stephen Bassett, a Vietnam veteran and former TV and radio sportscaster,[1] and Judith Bassett, a manager with the National Park Service. She grew up on a horse farm in Maryland where she was an equestrian and sang in the choir. Despite an interest in theater, she never took part in plays in high school.[2]
Education
