How many of us have a favorite Sesame Street or Muppets memory? For the majority of people born in or later, Sesame Street was most likely a vital part of our childhood. With over one hundred episodes per season and lovable characters, Sesame Street provided young children with a positive foundation in life. My favorite sketches involved Bert and Ernie because they were so silly and goofy that I ended up laughing. For those curious, besides the rubber duckie song, my favorite routine of theirs is “flashlight, umbrella, bowling ball,” which I still watch if I need some belly laughs. The man behind Ernie, and creator of all Muppets, Jim Henson, noted that “the most sophisticated people I know, inside they are all children.” I know my children will accuse me of acting like a kid, but with all those Sesame Street memories stored up, how can I not behave childishly from time to time.
