Previous Experience
Kelsey joined KSTP 5 Eyewitness News in April 2022. Before returning to Minnesota, she reported for FOX 5 in San Diego and KMTR in Eugene, Oregon. She was also a traffic reporter at TTWN for Seattle radio stations. She has been the lead reporter on two school campus shootings, a historic snowstorm and a handful of wildfires. Kelsey also uncovered unethical practices within a state department, which led to a new state committee.
Education
Kelsey studied to be a medic at HCMC, while she studied journalism and global studies at the University of Minnesota. During her time as a Gopher, Kelsey was a health reporter and photographer for the Minnesota Daily. She also spent time in Mongolia creating local English news at Channel 1 News International. Kelsey interned for WCCO, KARE11, CCX Media and Governor Mark Dayton.
Before starting her career in news, she worked as a paramedic for the Mayo Clinic for three years. Kelsey also worked as a medic during her free time outside of reporting in Oregon.

Early and personal life
[edit]Egan is from Wisconsin and attended Whitefish Bay High School. She took a course at the British American Drama Academy in London. She double majored in Drama and Neuroscience and Behavior at Vassar College, graduating in 2005. She briefly lived in New York City and Beijing before moving to Johannesburg in 2008.[2][3] She holds dual citizenship.[4][5]
