On January 11, 1993, William Plumer Fowler '21 died at age 93. Thereby were the ranks of Oxfordians diminished by one. Fowler didn't live in Oxford; he lived in North Hampton, New Hampshire. He hadn't been born in Oxford. He never did one of those Rhodes Scholarship gigs at Oxford. He hadn't worked in Oxford; he spent most of his working life in Boston. I'm not even sure what Fowler felt about Oxford—the town of Oxford, that is.
