Nosiviwe Noluthando Mapisa-Nqakula, Ms
Ms Mapisa-Nqkula was the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans of the Republic of South Africa from 26 May 2014 to 5 August 2021. She is also the Chairperson of the Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence and member of the Joint Standing Committee on Defence since 1994; she has been a member of Parliament from 2004 and member of National Executive Council (NEC) of African National Congress (ANC) since December 2007.

Ms Mapisa-Nqakula holds a Primary Teacher's Diploma from the Bensonvale Teacher TRG College and a Project Management with Canadian University Studies (CUSO). She also did the Basic Human Relations Course; Community Development course; Communications course; and she also trained in Youth Leadership and she is currently studying Psychology with the Newport University.
